Welcome...
...to the
Canadian branch of the Sri Chaitanya Sarasvat Math.
Srila Sridhar Maharaj speaks on fundamental spiritual question "Who am I?" His name will be sang across the globe more and more as time passes. Although no one knows who he was, as Srila BS Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj said many times, still his teaching will speak for him to glorify him. Esha pushpanjali to eternal teacher Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, shastra-nipuna, rupanuga-dhara, sri-chaitanya-sarasvat-parivara-dhara. Koti dandavata.
This website presents Srila Sridhar Maharaj's teachings inspired by Srila BS Govinda Maharaj, his exclusive successor & acharyya, who has empowered as his successor Srila BN Acharyya Maharaj.
In the Video: Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaja declared on 4th of December 2009 on his auspicious Sri Vyasapuja day: "He, (Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaja), is highly qualified and I have chosen him as next Acharya of this Math. All of you should united proceed under his guidance, serve under him faithfully and love him. His love for the Math is his greatest quality. That the Math should not lose one inch of its land, one inch of its property-he is continuously working towards this end. I am now asking him to speak Hari-katha as my representative... Math secretary, Math manager, future Math Acharya, Sripad Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaja ki jay! After me, all of you should continue as his followers. Everyone makes mistakes, but I very rarely see anyone with a sincere, heartfelt service mood like him. The type of profound vision and attentive care he has for every matter cannot be seen anywhere. I pray the Lord will bring him all goodness and auspiciousness."

Bhakti Yoga v.s. Yoga
Presently the word Yoga has been identified with physical, mental and emotional improvements. Sometimes it is associated with other spiritual practices. But if we look into the fundamental
basis of Yoga we will find that originally it has been understood in
more profound way. For instance in the ancient script Bhagavadgita, aging more than 5000 year, spoken by Sri Krishna Himself, we find Yoga descriptions throughout the pages. Bhagavadgita presents
theosophical and spiritual topics categorized in different chapters
as sankhya yoga, karma yoga, gyana yoga, (see
more...)karma sanyasa yoga, dhyana
yoga, gyana vigyana yoga, tara brahma yoga, raja guhya yoga, vibhuti
yoga, visvarupa darshana yoga, bhakti yoga, gunatraya vibhaga yoga,
purushottama yoga, sraddharaya vibhaga yoga and moksha yoga.
In Sixth Chapter of Bhagavadgita we read the words of Sri Krishna:
BG 6.46 The yogi is superior to persons engaged in severe austerities (such as the Chandrayana vow), superior to the person of knowledge who worships Brahman, and superior to the person of action. Know this to be My conclusion. Therefore, O Arjuna, be a yogi.
BG 6.47 The best of all yogis is the devotee who has full faith in the authoritative pure devotional scriptures, and who adores, rendering all services unto Me. This is My opinion.
Bhakti Yoga has been described
in 12th Chapter of
Bhagavadgita...
...as path of devotion to the Supreme
Person. Devotion is described there as being addressed not to oneself or other people, Un-manifested Brahman,
Wind or Earth etc. bhaktya mam
abhijanatiyavan yas chasmi
tattvatah
tato mam tattvato gyatva vishyate tad-anantatam
BG 18.55 Through devotion, he realizes that I am the Lord of all
potencies and the Sweet Absolute. Then, realizing his divine relationship with
Me, he enters the company of My intimate associates who are non-different from
My very Self..
Bhakti (devotion) is exclusive and also universal.
It is exclusive as it does not tolerate other paths or multi-goal paths. It is universal because every one can take it up and perfect it within his/her capacity. Yoga is a process, positions or perfection. Bhakti Yoga embraces all type of relationships as all of them sprung
from the Supreme Center. The example is given in Upanishadas: "just
like by watering roots of a tree all branches are nourished or just
by putting food in the stomach one nourishes the whole body, similarly
one creates harmony in whole universe by worshipping the Supreme." True
bhakta is a true friend of all as he sees the Divine Hand every
where.
This website is
dedicated to our beloved spiritual master Srila
Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev Goswami Maharaja, the recipient and master
of ancient line bhakti yoga, who has given us more guidance, hope
and affection than we can ever imagine. We are simply to share the
great gift given unconditionally to us to you and all sincere seekers.
Regardless of age, background, or any material qualification or circumstance,
this gift is beneficial to all. Not everyone is looking for spiritual
life but most definitely everyone is looking for love, beauty, for
harmony and happiness. Unfortunately all transactions in this mortal
world can never bring us satisfaction for what we're truly looking
for. How can we find what can give this satisfaction? Here at our ashram,
it is our hope that you will find the answer.
Our meetings are based on happily hearing about God (hari katha), glorifying
God (kirtan) and tasting prasadam (food offered to Lord Krishna). If
you
want to uplift your conscious heart please come as you are .
Thank you,
Editors
P. S. Kindly, let
us know of any mistakes and discrepancies on these pages for which
we sincerely apologize...

Kirtan by Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj
Kirtans at informal gatherings every Wednesday at 5:15pm -
please call for details 604.953.0280
What is Kirtan?
Kirtan comes from word kirti - indicating some one worth glory. So kirtan is an act of giving honor to such a person. The supreme glory is with the Supreme Person. Thus kirtan is not just singing a nice tune. Rather it is based on a sincere devotion, and its quality depends on the intensity of devotion. It is preferable to chant a kirtan under the guidance of one whose devotion is pure, unmotivated and clear. The experienced devotees say that kirtan should be chanted without any petition as far as possible.

When you travel
Where ever you go you can find some vegatarian eateries or restaurants. Happy Cow website is a fantastic assistant for travellers:
"Everything is good, we just need the proper vision. ...Consciousness is not a product of the world; the world is a product of consciousness. And reality is subjective. It is based on consciousness"
Kirtan is the very essence and tradition of Gaudiya Vaishnava line. There chanting with the attitude of service is a practice. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Pabhupada envisioned kirtan as aw mean to support the highest and most sublime pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna and His associates.
He said: "pujala raga patha gaurava bhange, matal sadhujana nishaya range" - devotees of the Lord Hari will hold His pastimes on their heads. They will position themselves beneath the sublime plane of Divinity but humbly support it with kirtan in glorification of the Lord.
